The 80s era of Michael Jackson music included hits such as Billie Jean, Beat It, and Thriller.

Dubbed as the King of Pop, Michael Jackson produced more hits and more music videos that the world enjoyed. He sold millions of albums and was awarded multiple awards including Grammy awards, American Music Awards, and a Guinness Word Record award among many others.

Back in 2009, Michael Jackson died unexpectedly before his comeback concert series entitled This Is It. The courts decided that it was due to a propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication that led to a cardiac arrest.

Skin Bleaching

One of the most prominent changes in Michael Jackson’s appearance is his skin. Born as an African-American with naturally dark skin, Michael Jackson began having skin bleaching treatments as he rose to fame. In the Thriller era, you may notice that his skin began lightening from then on, until he became almost completely white.

Before his death in 2009, Michael Jackson’s nose didn’t look like a nose at all. Due to multiple rhinoplasties (nose jobs) over the years, Michael Jackson’s nose became thinner and smaller until there was almost nothing left.

From a usually wide and big nose of the African-American descent, the singer ended up with an abnormally thin nose with a sharp tip. Unfortunately, this made him look more alien-like than whatever look he was going for.

Dimple Surgery and Cosmetic Tattoos

For additional aesthetic appeal, Michael Jackson got a surgery to create a dimple in his chin back in 1988. You will notice this change in his appearance if you look at his before and after pictures.

The autopsy after his death also revealed that he had gotten cosmetic tattoos around his eyes and lips, on his eyebrows, and along his receding hairline.

Cheek Implants

At some point in the early 1980s, Michael Jackson had cheek implants inserted into his face to make his cheeks more prominent. If you look at his before and after pictures, you will notice right away that his cheeks look unnaturally plump, thanks to the cheek implants.

Eyelid Surgery

Michael Jackson plastic surgery also included several eyelid surgeries that started in the mid-1980s. The eyelid surgery was meant to reduce the bagginess around the eyes. In this procedure, some skin or fat around the eyes are removed.

The transformation of his eyes along the years have been drastic, considering the natural look of his eyes before. Due to the multiple eyelid surgeries, his eyelids looked puffy, botched, and just plain unnatural.

Many doctors believe that he suffered from body dysmorphic disorder, a psychological illness wherein the sufferer has a distorted view of themselves. Hence, the multiple plastic surgeries meant to modify the appearance.

In the early 2000s, Michael Jackson’s nose was so destroyed by plastic surgery that doctors claimed it to be at the point of no return. Before his death, a plastic surgeon who was also Michael Jackson’s face claimed to rebuilding the pop star’s face.
